Deslor is an antihistamine that mitigates the impact of the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can lead to symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and a runny nose.
Deslor is utilized to alleviate allergy symptoms, including sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose. It is also prescribed for treating skin hives and itching in individuals with chronic skin reactions.
When you encounter an allergen, a series of reactions initiate within your body. During this process, specialized cells release potent chemicals. Some of these substances can cause swelling in the nasal passages, resulting in nasal congestion (a "stuffy" nose). Other chemicals, like histamine, can lead to sneezing, itching, and irritation.
Deslor belongs to a category of medications known as antihistamines. As suggested by its name, this drug obstructs the effects of histamine, which can aid in alleviating allergy symptoms. However, since histamine is not responsible for nasal congestion, Deslor will not assist in clearing the nasal passages.
Seek emergency medical assistance if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction to Deslor: hives; trouble breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of these serious side effects: rapid, pounding, or irregular heartbeat; fever, flu-like symptoms; seizures (convulsions); or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
Some less severe side effects of Deslor may include: dry mouth, sore throat, cough; muscle pain; drowsiness, fatigue; nausea, diarrhea; or headaches.
