Fasigyn is an antibiotic that combats bacteria in the body. Tinidazole is utilized to address specific infections caused by bacteria, including infections of the intestines or vagina. It is also indicated for certain sexually transmitted infections.
You should avoid using Fasigyn if you are allergic to Tinidazole or Metronidazole, or if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy. While taking Fasigyn, it is advised not to breast-feed a baby. However, you may resume nursing three days after your last dose. Do not keep any milk collected with a breast pump during your treatment with Fasigyn.
Before starting Fasigyn, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease (or are on dialysis), epilepsy or any seizure disorders, a blood cell disorder like anemia or low platelets, or a compromised immune system.
Use Fasigyn for the entire prescribed duration. Your symptoms might improve before the infection is fully resolved. Tinidazole is ineffective against viral infections like the common cold or flu. Refrain from consuming alcohol while taking Fasigyn and for at least three days following your treatment.
A medication similar to Tinidazole has been linked to cancer in laboratory animals. It's uncertain whether Fasigyn would have the same impact on animals or humans. Discuss your individual risk with your doctor.
Potential side effects include: vaginal itching or discharge; nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, indigestion; constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps; feelings of weakness or fatigue; headache, dizziness; or a metallic or bitter taste in the mouth.
