Sildenafil Citrate
ManForce is a medication for erectile dysfunction that contains Sildenafil Citrate as its active ingredient. Sildenafil Citrate is a well-known compound that promotes blood circulation to the penis.
The main component of ManForce, Sildenafil Citrate, functions as a PDE5 inhibitor. Achieving a penile erection is a complex physiological process involving several interactions among psychological, neural, vascular, and endocrine factors. During sexual stimulation (arousal), nitric oxide is released from nerve cells and activates the enzyme Guanylate cyclase, leading to the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP acts as a second messenger that triggers intracellular protein kinases, resulting in the relaxation of smooth muscles. This relaxation within the cavernous body enhances blood flow, ultimately causing a firm and adequate erection suitable for sexual intercourse. ManForce is intended for use by men experiencing erectile dysfunction. This medication is not a sexual enhancer and is effective only in the presence of sexual stimulation. ManForce is not intended for female use.
ManForce is available in tablet form, which should be taken orally, swallowed whole, at least 30 minutes prior to sexual activity. The typical dosage for ManForce is 50 mg once daily. If this dose is insufficient, 100 mg may be taken. For patients with liver or kidney conditions, the dose of ManForce should not exceed 25 mg.
ManForce is contraindicated in the following situations: individual intolerance or hypersensitivity to sildenafil citrate or its components, males under 18 years of age, females including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, severe liver diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatic failure, hepatitis, kidney conditions such as glomerulonephritis and pyelonephritis, serious cardiovascular issues including heart attacks, strokes, coronary artery disease, angina, heart failure, aortic stenosis, high or low blood pressure, blood disorders like multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia, leukemia, vision impairments such as retinitis pigmentosa, anatomical deformities of the penis like angulation, Peyronie’s disease, or cavernosal fibrosis, and concurrent use with nitrates or alpha-blockers.
Potential side effects of ManForce include: skin rash, dizziness, drowsiness, dyspepsia (upset stomach), headache, nasal congestion, hot flashes, infections of the urogenital system, upper and lower respiratory infections, back pain, localized pain, common cold symptoms, and priapism.
