Zocon is a prescription drug designed to treat fungal infections, specifically candidiasis or yeast infections. Your physician may recommend Zocon for addressing infections in the throat, vagina, urinary tract, peritonitis, pneumonia, or other areas affected by fungi.
Patients undergoing bone marrow transplants might be prescribed Zocon to help prevent candidiasis. Additionally, it is utilized to manage inflammation of the brain or spinal cord (meningitis) caused by a different kind of fungus. The active component in Zocon is Fluconazole, which is an antifungal agent.
Take Zocon precisely as directed and for the entire duration prescribed. Even if you begin to feel improvement after just a few days, it may require weeks or even months for the infections to be fully resolved. Do not adjust the dosage or discontinue use unless your doctor advises you to do so. Your dosage will be based on factors such as your age, weight, allergies, medical condition, or the severity of your issue. Adhere to your doctor's instructions for optimal outcomes. Zocon can be taken with or without food.
Avoid taking Zocon or other medications like Aseconazole, Micronazole, Terconazole, Clotrimazole, or Orsulconazole if you have an allergy to Fluconazole or any of its other components. Zocon should not be taken alongside certain medications. Fluconazole must not be used if you have any of the following health conditions without your doctor's consent: liver disease, kidney disease, irregular heartbeat, or long QT syndrome.
Do not use Zocon if you are pregnant unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Fluconazole is classified as a category D drug, which may be harmful to an unborn child or lead to birth defects. Employ a birth control method while using Zocon. Refrain from taking Zocon while breastfeeding, as the medication can transfer into breast milk and potentially harm the infant.
Your physician may conduct tests to assess liver function while you are on Zocon. If your immune system is weakened, your doctor will keep a close watch on your health, and you may need to discontinue the use of Zocon.
Zocon should be kept at room temperature; avoid exposure to temperatures above 86°F. Ensure this medication is kept out of the reach of children and pets.
