Sinoretik can be used on its own or alongside other medications to manage high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and for patients recently recovering from a heart attack. It is classified as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Lisinopril tablets function by relaxing your blood vessels to lower blood pressure.

The active components in Sinoretik are Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide.

Lisinopril treats high blood pressure (hypertension), congestive heart failure, and enhances survival rates following a heart attack. It is part of the ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme) category of drugs.

The starting dose for adults is 10 mg once daily, which can be increased to a maximum of 40 mg per day based on the response in blood pressure. For patients on diuretics, initiate with 5 mg once daily. For pediatric patients aged 6 years and older with a glomerular filtration rate exceeding 30 mL/min/1.73m2, the initial dose is 0.07 mg per kg (up to a maximum of 5 mg) once daily.

It is essential to take Sinoretik exactly as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dose or prolong its use beyond what your doctor has advised. Your physician may adjust your dosage occasionally to optimize the effectiveness of the medication. Take each dose with a full glass of water, with or without food. Ensure you are drinking plenty of water each day while on Sinoretik.

Vomiting, diarrhea, or excessive sweating can lead to dehydration, which may result in very low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances, or kidney failure while using this medication. Regular blood pressure monitoring is necessary to confirm that Sinoretik is effectively treating your condition. Additionally, kidney or liver function tests may be required. It is crucial not to miss any scheduled check-ups with your doctor.

Before undergoing any surgical procedure, inform the surgeon that you are taking Sinoretik. You may need to discontinue the medication temporarily. If you’re managing high blood pressure, continue taking this medication even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often presents no symptoms. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next dose as scheduled. Do not take extra medicine to compensate for a missed dose.

The most common side effects of Sinoretik, occurring in 2% or more of patients, which are more frequent than with a placebo, include: hypertension-related headaches, dizziness, and cough; heart failure manifesting as hypotension and chest pain; acute myocardial infarction presenting with hypotension.

If you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, severe abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, seek immediate medical assistance.
