Nevimune is categorized as a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), a type of anti-HIV medication. The enzyme reverse transcriptase is essential for the HIV virus's replication. By inhibiting this enzyme, Nevimune aids in managing HIV-1 infection.
Nevimune acts as an antiviral drug, preventing the proliferation of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cells in the body. It is prescribed for treating HIV, which is responsible for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). However, it does not prevent or cure HIV or AIDS.
Reported side effects from Nevimune's active components may include: mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort; muscle aches; headaches; fatigue; or changes in body fat distribution (notably in the arms, legs, face, neck, breasts, and waist).
If you experience fever, swollen gums, painful mouth ulcers, discomfort while swallowing, skin lesions, cold or flu-like symptoms, coughing, difficulty breathing; any other indicators of a new infection; or the initial appearance of any skin rash, regardless of severity, discontinue Nevimune and contact your doctor immediately.
This is not an exhaustive enumeration of side effects, and others may arise. Please consult your physician for advice related to side effects.
Before starting Nevimune, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or have any other allergies. This medication may contain inactive substances that could trigger allergic reactions or other complications. For further information, consult your pharmacist.
