Pharmaceutical name: Thiocolchicoside
Pack: 10 caps (8mg)
Muscoflex contains Thiocolchicoside as the active ingredient, which acts as a muscle relaxant and provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. This medication targets GABA receptors at the spinal cord level, as well as certain receptors in the central nervous system. Thiocolchicoside is recommended for the symptomatic management of various muscle, rheumatic, and neurological disorders that are accompanied by skeletal muscle spasms or contractures. These include degenerative spine conditions like torticollis, back pain, and lumbago; neurological disorders that involve spasms; and it may also be given during physical therapy sessions (rehabilitation).
Thiocolchicoside may not be appropriate for everyone. Avoid using it if you have an allergy to thiocolchicoside or any other components of this medication.
It is especially important to inform your doctor if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney or liver issues, suffer from diabetes, have intolerances to fructose or lactose, experience muscle hypotony, or have kidney failure.
Muscoflex can interact with other medications. Therefore, it is crucial that you inform your doctor of all drugs and herbal supplements you are currently taking.
Muscoflex is available in capsule form. You should take Muscoflex precisely as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Your dosage will be determined based on your specific condition and requirements. The standard dose is usually one or two capsules daily, taken after a meal.
Do not exceed the prescribed dosage, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer duration than the doctor has advised. Additionally, Muscoflex is most effective when there is a steady amount in your bloodstream. To maintain this level, ensure you do not skip any doses and take Muscoflex at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, do not take two doses at once.
