Manufacturer: Cian Health Care Pvt Ltd.
Pharmaceutical name: Orlistat
Pack: 10 pills (60 mg)
Euslim is intended for use alongside a calorie-restricted diet and weight management to address obesity in individuals with specific risk factors, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol or triglyceride levels.

Euslim functions as a reversible inhibitor of lipases. It achieves its therapeutic effect in the stomach and small intestine by covalently bonding with the active serine residue of gastric and pancreatic lipases. This inactivation of the enzymes prevents them from breaking down dietary fats, which are typically processed from triglycerides into absorbable free fatty acids and monoglycerides. As a result, undigested triglycerides are not absorbed, leading to a caloric deficit that may aid in weight management. Therefore, systemic absorption of Euslim is unnecessary for its effectiveness.

Continuous treatment is recommended for obese individuals or those who are overweight, particularly if they have associated risk factors for adiposity, when combined with a moderate caloric restriction. It may also be used in conjunction with hypoglycemic agents (such as metformin, sulfonylureas, and/or insulin) or alongside a moderate calorie-reduced diet for patients with Type 2 diabetes who are overweight or obese.

It is advised not to use Euslim if you: have an allergy to any component in Obelit; experience chronic food absorption issues (chronic malabsorption); have gallbladder ailments; or suffer from cholestasis (which affects bile flow from the liver to the intestines);

Signs of bowel movement urgency; gas with discharge; inability to control bowel movements; an increased frequency of bowel movements; oily discharge; fatty stools; or oily spotting.

Other serious side effects include severe allergic reactions such as rashes, hives, itching, breathing difficulties, chest tightness, and swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; as well as severe or persistent abdominal pain.

There may be an increased risk of bleeding if anticoagulant medications are taken simultaneously with Orlistat.

Euslim can significantly reduce the effectiveness of Cyclosporine. To ensure optimal absorption of Cyclosporine into the bloodstream, it should be taken at least 2 hours before or after Orlistat.
