Dutas-T includes separate capsules of Dutasteride 0.5mg and Tamsulosin 0.4mg. Each strip comprises 10 capsules of Dutas (Dutasteride 0.5mg) and 10 capsules of Tamsulosin 0.4mg. Dutas, which contains Dutasteride, is utilized for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) by inhibiting DHT. This medication is also effective for treating hair loss (male pattern baldness).
Tamsulosin is prescribed for alleviating symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This condition may lead to challenges in initiating urination, a weak urine stream, and increased urgency or frequency of urination. Dutas-T relaxes the muscles surrounding the prostate, which eases urine flow and reduces urinary symptoms.
Use Dutas-T precisely as your doctor instructs. Take each dose with a full glass of water and swallow the capsules whole. Do not chew, crush, or break the capsules. These capsules can be consumed with or without food.
Potential side effects include impotence (difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection), reduced libido (sexual desire), breast enlargement and sensitivity (gynecomastia), and a decrease in the amount of semen released during sexual activity. Generally, these side effects lessen or resolve with ongoing use or after discontinuing the medication altogether.
Do not discontinue Dutas-T without consulting your doctor first. Although some men experience fewer issues and symptoms after three months of treatment with dutasteride, a treatment duration of at least six months is typically required to determine if dutasteride will be effective.
