Manufacturer: Sun Pharma
Pharmaceutical name: Bimatoprost Ophthalmic
Pack: 1 bottle (3 ml (0.03%))
Careprost Eye Drops includes the active component Bimatoprost. This medication is designed to treat hypotrichosis (short eyelashes). Careprost enhances the length, thickness, and pigmentation of eyelashes. Additionally, Bimatoprost serves as a treatment for glaucoma. Careprost is used specifically for promoting eyelash growth. The active ingredient, Bimatoprost Ophthalmic, works by boosting the density, thickness, and length of lashes. It also increases the fluid levels in the eye and is officially recognized for glaucoma treatment. For glaucoma, the medication must be applied directly to the eye, while for eyelash enhancement, it is applied only to the eyelid.
To use Careprost, place one drop onto a liquid eyeliner brush. Apply a line along the upper eyelid and then wipe away any excess liquid. Repeat this for the other eye. Avoid applying Careprost to the lower eyelid.
Use Careprost once daily. Results are typically visible after two months of use, although achieving optimal effects may take three to four months. Once the desired length or thickness is reached, continue using Careprost once a week to maintain the results. If you stop using Careprost entirely, your eyelashes will return to their original condition.
Potential side effects include dry eyes, visual disturbances, a burning sensation in the eyes, unusual sensations, darkened eyelashes, irritation, conjunctival swelling, conjunctivitis, discharge from the eye, and pigmentation changes in the iris.
Research indicates that Careprost can gradually alter the color of the treated eyes to brown by increasing melanosomes in melanocytes, and these changes might be permanent. The long-term impact on melanocytes, such as potential harm to pigment granules and deposition of pigment, remains unclear. Because color alterations happen slowly, they are often undetectable and may take years to become apparent.
