Armotraz contains Anastrozole, which is utilized in treating early-stage breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It is commonly prescribed to fight or prevent specific types of breast cancers that rely on estrogen for growth. By reducing estrogen levels in the body, these cancers become incapable of growing and proliferating. Armotraz might be employed as a preventive strategy for women at high risk of developing breast cancer, to inhibit cancer growth in the opposite breast, or to address both early and advanced stages of existing cancer. It is often used alongside other medications, either as an adjunct treatment or when other therapies have not yielded favorable outcomes.

Armotraz is a tablet typically taken once daily at the same time. It can be consumed with or without food. The dosage and length of treatment will differ based on several factors, including the specific condition being addressed, the patient's response to the treatment, and other medications being used. Adhering closely to physician instructions is crucial to maximize the benefits of Armotraz. Usually, Armotraz is taken for a duration of 2 to 5 years, though treatment may be extended in certain situations. If a dose is missed, it can be taken when remembered or skipped if it is close to the next dose time. Avoid taking double doses.

Armotraz is intended for post-menopausal women and certain pre-menopausal women only. It is not suitable for men or children. Armotraz poses risks to unborn children and infants. A pregnancy test may be necessary prior to prescribing this medication.

In some patients, Armotraz may reduce bone density, which can increase the likelihood of fractures and breaks. Based on the patient’s history and condition, frequent bone density evaluations may be recommended.

Rarely, side effects occur, and they are usually mild and may resolve as the body adjusts to the treatment. If side effects are persistent, severe, or worsen, it is important to consult a physician.
